SINGAPORE > BANGKOK, THAILAND
We flew Cathay from Singapore to Bangkok and used Singapore's T4 for the first time. Pretty impressive, but not convenient to go to other terminals as you need to go through passport check and take a bus. Unlike T1, T2, and T3, where you can simply take a monorail. The flight from Singapore to Bangkok was about 2hrs 15 mins. Upon arrival, we took a taxi to our hotel (cost about 450 baht, excluding highway charges of 75 baht). The journey took us about 50-60 mins as traffic was not heavy in the afternoon. After settling down in the hotel, we walked from the hotel to Fu Sharks Fin restaurant for dinner. BANGKOK - AYUTTHAYA - BANGKOK
Booked a taxi for THB3,000 from 8am till 5pm to visit the temples in Ayutthaya. The drive from our hotel to the first temple we visited (Wat Chaiwatthanaram) took us about 1hr 20mins. This is one of the most famous temples, and usually shown on pamphlets. Entrance fee (not compulsory) is 20 baht per person. Next stop was Wat Maha That, popular for the Buddha head in the tree. Entrance fee 50 baht each. Following that we visited Wat Phra Si Sanphet (50 baht entrance fee), and the last one Wat Lokayasutharam (the big outdoor reclining Buddha), no entrance fee. All in all, we spend about 4-5 hours visiting all these places. Next was lunch at vegetarian restaurant, xxx, in Ayutthaya. Tasty food at cheap prices, and hence would recommend this place. After lunch, we headed back to Bangkok city. We requested our driver to drop us at MBK shopping centre. The drive back took us about 1hr 30 mins. We spend the evening shopping at MBK before taking a taxi to Chinatown for dinner and birds nest desert there. |

BANGKOK
After breakfast, we took a grab taxi to Pratunam shopping centre and spend time shopping there. Then we walked across the road to eat the famous chicken rice and satays before continuing our shopping in the wholesale market. In the evening, we took a GrabTaxi to Neon Talad night market for more shopping and had our dinner and drinks there. The place is quite nice and have cosy pubs with live band performances at night. |
