SINGAPORE > NEW CHITOSE > SAPPORO
ETD0545 Changi Airport to New Chitose (TR890 ETA1410) We took the maiden direct flight by Scoot from Singapore to New Chitose Airport TR890, where flight time is only 7hrs 15mins, and arrived at New Chitose Airport at around 1400 hours. Booked a wifi router from Changi Airport before we departed and costs us less than SGD29 for the 7 days rental. After clearing the custom, we walked to the domestic airport eating area and had late lunch. First was the shorthorns beef restaurant, followed by butadon and ends with cheese pizza. Then walked to the bus stop and took the airport shuttle at 5250pm; 1030 yen and per person. Arrived our stop S15 at 633pm. First stop, walked 1 min to the Izakaya for dinner. After dinner, walked about 2mins to our apartment. Walk 5mins to nearby supermarket ( closes 10:45pm ) to stock up on breakfast. |

Breakfast in the apartment. Left the apartment at around 12pm. Unlimited train ride ticket 520 yen per person. First stop was to Hokkaido University to see the famous Ginko Tree passage. Took from Tsukisamu chuo station to xxx station (blue Toho line) and walked about 15 mins. Even though it's over the peak season, still can see some nice colours. Next stop was Nijo market for late lunch. We took the train to Odori station and walked about 5-10 mins. Great meals (sushi Omakase, Uni meal, Ikura, oysters, scallops, ice cream. Total bills about 16,000 yen. Next, we crossed over the road and went to the pedestrian shopping street. Walked till about 8pm and walked to Susukino for dinner. 18 oysters plus 2 beers cost 2,890 yen. Next stop, we took the train to our apartment station and had Yakiniku. Total bill 15,800 yen. End the day with beer in our apartment. |

SAPPORO
Breakfast in apartment. Set off around 1215pm for lunch. Bought the unlimited train ride ticket again. Took three stops down to Gakuen Mae station and walked about 10 mins to a popular conveyor belt sushi place. Waited for more than 30mins for our turn. 40 plates plus soup cost 13,800 yen. Finished our lunch around 4pm. Went to a famous bakery shop, but unfortunately sold out for the day. Walked 10-15 mins to a local fashion shop where the ladies spend about 2 hours shopping. Then we walked to a nearby supermarket to stock up Wagyu beer, chicken, seafood, sake etc for a total of 17,000 yen. Walked 10-15 mins back to the train station and took a train back to our apartment to leave the stuff back in our apartment before taking the train to susukino station. Had ramen in one of the stalls in Ramen street. End the day at around 1045pm, shopping in a duty free shop. |

SAPPORO > OTARU > SAPPORO
After breakfast, we picked up our rental car from Budget near the Sapporo Station. We rented a Toyota Wish from 6-10 Nov (returning the car at New Chitose Airport) for about 30,000 yen. Breakfast in the apartment. Took a train ride at 1230pm to Sapporo station (250 yen, 6 stops) to collect our rental car at Budget Rental Car. Took the car at around 125pm and drove back to apartment for lunch. Set off to Otaru at around 430pm and arrived around 550pm. First stop was to stock up local sake and beer. Then drove to the canal and had beer in Otaru brewery. After beer, drove to have fried chicken for dinner and ramen for supper. Last stop, supermarket to buy more beef and seafood. Back home at around 12 am |

Left the apartment early at around 8am today. Drove about 25mins to curb market for breakfast set meals ( not that fantastic ) and bought some corns & seaweed there. Next we drove to nearby morning seafood market ( opens 5am ; starts closing by 11am ) for a quick look before driving to Kinotoya factory shop to buy some cakes. After the cakes with coffee, we drove to the Farmers market to stock up fresh vegetables and pork. Left the farm market around 230pm and drove to Mitsui Premium Outlet where we had late lunch in the food court. Very yummy butadon (830yen) gyoza (350yen) & delicious seafood pancake (580yen). After that, we spend about 1-2 hours shopping in the premium outlets; Cainz ( cheap eye drops 187yen each & bought rinnai stove 12,000yen ; tax free ) before driving back to apartment around 8pm for home cooked meal. ( Note: pharmacy next to Daiso was selling eye drop at 167yen before tax; but need to buy more than 5,000yen before tax amt to qualify for tax free ). |

SAPPORO > IWAMIZAWA > SAPPORO
Had breakfast in the apartment and departed around 1030am to nearby Seria 100 yen shop. Janice bought 52 items, while Jean and Mother in law bought 34 items each. Then drove an hour to had lunch at Iwamizawa. Shopping again at Fashion centre shimura ( this shop always close 7pm & there's no tax free ) after lunch and left the shopping mall around 6pm and stop at North Farm ( close 7pm) for an hour to have coffee break. very good ice cream cone (250yen). Left the place at around 7pm and drove to the nearby town for yakitori dinner. Thereafter, drove to AEON 24H supermarket to buy sweet prawns & baby squids for next morning's breakfast. Drove an hour back to apartment, arrived around 1130pm. |

SAPPORO > TOMAKOMAI > SAPPORO
Breakfast in the apartment and left for the port at Tomakomai. Drove about 2hours to the port and went to Marutoma cafeteria for lunch (open 5am till 2pm). Price here is very reasonable with catch of the day sashimi don selling for 1,200 yen. Uni don 2,000 yen. Hokki shell fish curry set 1150yen. This place specialises in Hokki shellfish meals. The Uni was so sweet we decided to buy one box at 4000yen takeout for dinner. After lunch, we drove to opposite fish market to stock up King crab(7000yen), Ikura (5000yen) 6 large oysters ( 900yen) purple brocolli vegetables for dinner in the apartment. After lunch, drove to nearby Norita to stock up on stick on mirror ( sale small 699yen vs house brand small 1300yen & large 1800yen) , AEON mall & Uniqlo for shopping. Left Tomakomai around 7pm and drove back to Sapporo city centre Tokyu Dept store to buy duty free Fancl ( underground shopping street ). Back to apartment around 9pm and started cooking sumptuous seafood for dinner. |

Checked out 10am. Left luggages in apt & recollected at 12pm with owner's consent. Drove past Lucky plaza ( local 100yen shop) , bought 6 butadon takeout meals and last min shop Daiso at Mitsui Outlet Malls. Pump petrol ( 5600yen )just before alighting at international airport departure hall. Then drove to returned car to Budget around 150pm, have to pay fine 1,620 yen for an additional hour late. Left the car rental 1401, arrived back to airport 1413 via shuttle transfer. |
