Day 1
We flew Scoot from Singapore to Vientiane via Luang Prabang. Our flight took off on time at 905am from Changi airport and landed in LP 1103am local time. Transit an hour in LP and from LP, the flight time to Vientiane was only 25 mins. We touched down 1220pm and got out of Vientiane airport at around 1250pm.There's airport bus to town which cost15k kip per person, but we took a taxi instead (60k kip to city). The ride was only 10-15 mins from the airport to our hotel. After settling in the hotel room, we walked 5 mins to a restaurant (Khop Chai Deu) near our hotel for lunch. After lunch, we walked around the city to visit Patuxay Monument, Presidential Palace, Sisalet Temple, etc. In the evening, we went to the Vientiane Night Market, Vientiane Night Street, King Anouvong Statue. Hotel: Bloom Boutique Hotel & Café (US$133 for 3 nights inclusive of breakfast). |

Day 2
After breakfast, we rented a bike for two days for 140k kip. From our hotel, we ride about 40 mins to the Buddha Park, arriving at around 1215pm. Parking fee for bike was 5k Kip and entrance fee 15k kip each. Had lunch inside the park at 2pm (big portion fried rice 50k and coconut 15k) and left around 245pm. Back to hotel at around 330pm and went to Pha That Luang at around 4pm. Entrance fee 10k kip. |
|
Day 3
Rest and relax in hotel. Only visited some temples beside our hotel. |
|
Day 4
Check out from hotel at 9am and booked a van ride to Vang Vieng for 70k kip each. The van picked us up at 930am to the Vientiane-Vang Vieng van depot. The van left for Vang Vieng at around 10am. Arrived at the rest stop at around 1150am. Stopped for 20 mins break and departed again at 1215pm, arriving Vang Vieng city at 145pm. From the drop off point, it was a short 7-8 mins walk to our hotel. Rest and relax till 5pm before we walked to the Nam Song River for some drone videos. Hotel: Serene Premiere Vang Vieng Hotel (US$54 for two nights inclusive of breakfast) |

Day 5
After breakfast, we rented a bike for 50k kip (for12 hours) to explore Vang Vieng. Our first stop was Nam Xay Viewpoint, which is just 15-20 mins motorbike ride from our hotel. We arrived at the parking area around 1130am and took us about 30 mins to climb up to the top. Entrance fee is 10k kip each. Breathtaking view up at the viewpoint, which makes the climb worthwhile. I would not recommend coming here if its raining and wet as certain part of the trails are quite slippery. After taking photos and drone videos, we descended to the carpark, and reached around 158pm. From there, it was a short ride to our next stop, Blue Lagoon and Phu Kham Cave. Entrance fee 10k kip each. The Blue Lagoon is more like a big swimming pool with a swing, and some platform to jump into the lagoon. After visiting the Blue lagoon and the cave, we went back to our hotel to rest and relax. |

Day 6
Time to cross over to Northeast Thailand today to visit Udon Thani. We've booked a bus ride from Vang Vieng to Udon Thani for 110k kip each. |
Day 7
From Udon Thani, we took the 430pm bus ride from Thailand to Vientiane, which cost 85 baht each. The bus only took off at 5pm and arrived at the Thai boarder around 1h10m later. We cleared the Thai custom very quickly and took about 10 mins to cross the bridge to Laos custom. Again we cleared the custom very quickly as there the custom was not crowded on Friday night. Had to pay 10k kip per person for passenger tax to get into Laos. We arrived Vientiane bus terminal at around 7pm. From there, it was a short 8 mins walk to our hotel. Had dinner at Lao Kitchen for 130k Kip. Hotel: Family Boutique Hotel (USD28 a night inclusive of breakfast) |
