The many faces of this UNESCO World Heritage City are perhaps what fascinates visitors as well as residents the most: numerous listed buildings are full of medieval cha mixed with baroque architecture, a wide spectrum of cultural events and most beautiful landscapes characterise this city. Sights in Bamberg: Old Town Hall - According to legend, Bamberg's bishop did not want to give a centimetre of land to the citizens. This is why the residents of Bamberg rammed piles in the River for their town hall and created an artificial island at the centre of the Regnitz. The Bamberger Reiter, the papal tomb of Clemens II and many stone sculptures are among the most important sights inside the cathedral.
