VENICE (ITALY) > BARI (ITALY)
We boarded the Costa cruise ship, Fortuna, at around 4pm at Venice port, and the cruise departed about 5pm. We spend the night sailing to our first port call, Bari (Italy). We arrived Bari at around 2pm, and spend the afternoon touring the narrow streets of the old city, coming across architectural masterpieces created over the centuries by Romans, Byzantines, Normans and Swabians. The cruise set sail around 8pm, heading to our next port call, Katakolon. |

BARI (ITALY) > KATAKOLON
We arrived Katakolon in the morning, and rented a manual car and drove to Olympia, which is the site of the original Olympic games (32km from Katakolon port). At the ruins don't miss the Temple of Hera, the Temple of Zeus (one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World) and the huge Stadium. Recently the past was brought back to life where some of the events of the 2004 Greek Olympics were held here. After visiting Olympia, we headed back near the port and had some light meals in one of the restaurants beside the beach before boarding the cruise. We spend the rest of the night sailing in the sea. |

KATAKOLON > SANTORINI > MYKONOS
We arrived Santorini early morning, and decided to join a shore excursion organised by Coasta as we will be given priority to disembarked. The big cruise ships are not allowed to dock due to the shallow water, and hence we were ferried to the shore by small boat. At the port, we boarded a bus, and was driven to the city overlooking the Aegean Sea. We spend the whole morning there, and we took the donkey ride from the city down to the port. Alternatively, you can choose to take the cable car down. After boarding the cruise, we set sail to our next port call, Mykonos. We arrived Mykonos in the evening, and had our dinner here after strolling the town. After dinner, we boarded the ship and spend the rest of the night sailing in the sea. |
|
MYKONOS > RHODES ISLAND
We arrived Rhodes Island in the morning, and hired a driver to drive us to the major tourist attractions like Acropolis of Rhodes, The site of Ancient Lindos in Rhodes, and the Old City. In 1988 the Medieval City of Rhodes was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The cruise set sail from Rhodes Island in the evening for Dubrovnik. |
|
RHODES ISLAND > DUBROVNIK (CROATIA)
We arrived Dubrovnik around 8am and was given about three hours to explore the city. Dubrovnik is a city in southern Croatia fronting the Adriatic Sea. It's known for its distinctive Old Town, encircled with massive stone walls completed in the 16th century. Its well-preserved buildings range from baroque St. Blaise Church to Renaissance Sponza Palace and Gothic Rector’s Palace, now a history museum. Paved with limestone, the pedestrianized Stradun (or Placa) is lined with shops and restaurants. This is our last port call before heading back to Venice. The cruise set sail around 1pm, and spend the rest of the day sailing back to Venice. |

DUBROVNIK (CROATIA) > VENICE (ITALY)
The cruise arrived at Venice port around 8-9am. |
